The road in the first photo is wide but trust me they became very narrow and thankfully we never met a car! I wonder how we would have done had we met someone? Of course we were on the lookout for wildlife . . .
Colin was proud of his "million dollar" eagle photos too . . .
At several moments on the drive I was beginning to wonder if we would make it back or if we were on a road to no where. It was such a slow drive due to the road conditions. We returned just in time to check out of our room and eat at the Sunday Brunch. It was one of the best brunches I have ever eaten. Of course it was weird to see all the men from the fishing boats show up as thankfully there was no dress code. The food was super yummy, and we managed to hang out and eat for almost 2 hours since our flight wasn't until 4:15pm. You can only sit and hang out for so long so we headed to the airport early. Again it was one of those super small planes and check in was a little different. After they got our names the first questions was how much do you weigh? Then they proceed to weigh each and every bag you will carry on or check in. At least they are super careful about weight limits and pull bags off if over the limit. It was a beautiful day so after we checked in, we headed outside to soak up the sun.
And then our plane landed . . . see why it was a little scary when we landed a few days ago?
If there is extra space then they fill the plane with mail and supplies people are shipping out; I've never seen so many of those post office flat rate boxes . . .
I just could not believe how beautiful it was from above . . .
. . . the flight was a little bumpy but with views like this you sort of forgot. We landed in Anchorage and our bags were already circling on the baggage claim. We grabbed a cab and headed to the hotel where we had a quick dinner and off to the pool/whirlpool to relax!
You and Colin really got some GREAT photos! ; )
