. . . and then headed to the world's second largest mall . . . The West Edmonton Mall (Dubai has the largest; I did ask) is like not mall I have ever visited. It has over 800 stores and parking for 20,000 cars not to mention a huge water park, miniature golf, hotel, and a huge indoor amusement park all inside. It was pretty amazing . . .
Then it was back on the road south to Calgary with an iced tea in hand! It is a short drive to our stop for the day. The drive was nice but not as scenic as the ALCAN. I was not feeling so well and my throat was very sore so I took a nap and woke up close to the hotel feeling much better. The plan for the day was to go to the Olympic Park which is home to the 1988 Winter Olympic Games. It was sort of sad looking and not much to do. I wanted to go to the top of ski jump . . .
. . . but it was closed due to a ruptured water pipe so we settled for just riding the scenic chair lift . . .
. . . going back down. The lift is used in the summer for mountain bikers and there were tons out today. It was pretty cool how they attach the bikes to the lift and take to the top . . .
and then below we saw this track with these fun sit scooter things . . .
. . . it was called Skyline Luge and SOOOOO fun! Sadly, I only did it once but should have done it twice because it was super fun. Too bad couldn't give one of these a spin . . .
It has been a week on the road so my suitcase was almost empty of clean clothes so back to the hotel to do laundry and relax.
