I sort of thought the no alarm clock wake up was a great idea but apparently someone else decided to stand outside our room and have a 20 minute conversation. Ugh, so I woke up at 8:40am which isn't that bad. I managed to stay in bed and let Colin sleep until 9:30am and then I couldn't take it any longer. We are having a relaxing morning and not heading to Magic Kingdom until tonight. We both got up and ready quickly and walked to Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf.
Again, competitive mode was in full force . . . I do not let Colin win . . . in fact he is not the best sport when he is not winning! I was the first to score a hole-in-one on the first hole no doubt . . .
. . . to which he quickly set the standard high and said it was game on. He scored his first hole-in-one on the fourth hole.
In fact we would both score THREE hole-in-ones each! But who would win? The anticipation ran high, and we both had to check the scores . . . twice . . .
. . . and in the end there is one winner and one loser . . .
. . . because in our house not everyone is a winner . . .
It was a fun activity, but now we were both hungry and nothing was open yet so Colin got the bright idea to rent one of these . . .
. . . he has been asking since he first saw them and well, I gave in. The path we travelled was seven eighths of a mile and we did two loops . . . oh my legs are feeling it,. So I was more than ready to grab lunch. I tried to tell him it would be a lot of work, but thankfully he was a great peddler. We survived without running over anyone too. I had lunch at BoardWalk Bakery . . .
. . . it was a super yummy sandwich of tomato, mozzarella, and basil with a side of cucumber salad (oh my it was so good), and that cupcake is vanilla with raspberry panna cotta filling inside . . . oh and I had a fake tea from the machine too, LOL! I so just earned that cupcake! Colin had lunch at the BoardWalk's Pizza Window . . . such a creative name isn't it . . . and yes, you walk up to the window and order. It wasn't too exciting of a meal but he sure liked it! And then we headed back to the hotel for some more pool time . . .
We both found it fun that the ducks would swim in the pool like they owned it . . .
The pool was a great place to relax and just have fun. I have relaxed more on this trip than any other trip. We are really taking the time to enjoy the hotel and all it has to offer! Now off to our night cap at the Magic Kingdom. Yes, this is the third day we have been to the Magic Kingdom! I have been looking forward to this day more than any day of the trip! I made Colin stop and take a quick photo as we entered the park . . .
. . . and then it was off to ride some rides! The masses were exited as we entered so we rode a lot of rides without much waiting! Tomorrowland Speedway, Space Mountain, Dumbo the Flying Elephant . . .
. . . never too old for Dumbo . . . Mad Tea Party Tea Cups . . . at this point Colin wanted a snack and wouldn't you know there was a churro stand near Dumbo. Each and everyday I have carried my purse with wallet and cash and not once did I ever use it so tonight I decided to leave it in the room. When we went to order the cast member informed us that MagicBands were not working to do snack credits or charge to your room, but they would gladly take cash and refund your account at guest services if you had snack credits. I was like I have nothing and as we turned to walk off she said, "Oh, don't worry about it, this treat is on Mickey." Talk about making the customer happy. So back to some rides, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and about this time I started to worry about our dinner reservation . . . a reservation that is super hard to snag . . . would they turn us away? I was extremely nervous so found a cast member to ask about the status. He assured me all would be fine, and they did not want to make this any inconvenience to me so don't worry. So off we went to Mickey's PhilharMagic . . . couple of selfies from our favorite rides . . .
. . . FP+, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train . . .
. . . and then the big event of the night . . . dinner at Be Our Guest with the Beast! I don't even remember when I managed to grab this reservation, but it was all that was available when I even started to consider Disney for Spring Break . . . 9:00pm on Friday, March 13th . . . our last night in the parks . . . waiting outside the castle . . .
. . . I was so excited! Colin was just happy he was going to have steak! The smallest of details as we were seated at our table for two . . .
. . . I pity the person who must fold all those napkin roses each day; I wanted to take it with me! Colin had the Grilled Strip Steak and it was all gone before I could snap a photo. I did have a bite, and it was perfectly cooked, very tender, and juicy. I had the Coq au Vin Style which is braised pork . . .
. . . it was so tender and the whipped cauliflower was amazing! Our desserts were equally as yummy . . . I had the Lemon Meringue Cupcake . . .
. . . and Colin got his Triple Chocolate Cupcake to go! After we finished our meal, we entered a room to meet our hostess . . . the Beast . . .
I love the photo of the two of us . . . well, three of us! What a great way to end our trip. The meal and experience was so much more than I imagined. I had read all the hype online and was not so sure; I get it now! We both had a great time and it was worth it! As we exited the castle, the fireworks had just started so we stopped to watch and then to use our last FP+ at a favorite of both of ours, Peter Pan's Flight. I just love these simple, classic rides! I really did miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and sad that it is now closed. The park did not close for an hour so we were on a mission to ride until the last possible minute . . . back to Tomorrowland Speedway where we rode solo . . .
. . . I got to drive for the first time in years! Space Mountain had a wait of 50 minutes so instead we went to Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger and rode it three times in less than 20 minutes . . . and then they shut it down. The castle is so pretty at night . . .
As we walked towards the exit, the Main Street Electrical Parade was starting so we watched a little before exiting for the bus to our hotel. The plan was to pack when we returned to the hotel, but I was exhausted! We decided to just pack in the morning since our airport transportation did not pick us up until 1:25pm. It was an amazing day and perfect ending to a great trip . . . Colin was asleep in less than 5 minutes!
