Peru day 4

It was a slow wake up . . . we have had a busy few days so a day a nothing was on the agenda.  The best part about heading to Peru is that we would be in the same time zone as Texas.  Isn't that great!  Again we changed hotels since our group tour begins at the JW Marriott; nice hotel and great location too.  So our tour officially begins today even though that means we only check in to our hotel and meet our two guides.
. . . and get the introduction and agenda for the next 9 days . . .
The real fun begins tomorrow . . . today is just 'free time' day which is good for us to hang out and get ready to be super busy and tired!  We are headed south where it gets into the 30s at night.  Some where along the way, I lost my fleece jacket . . . I am certain it is laying on my bed at home or still in the drawer.  So we head across the street to Lacromar which is a shopping center built on the side of a cliff.
It was really nice . . . very Americanized with shops and restaurants.  No luck with a jacket unless I wanted to pay 699 soles ($230) so I bought a sweater at GAP for 115 soles ($30).  I might regret this later, but I'm too cheap.  I did manage to pack gloves, several long sleeve shirts, and scarves. Amazingly, Colin's fleece made it in the suitcase. Remember it is winter in Peru.  When I checked forecast it said low 40s with slight chance of rain one day.  Now the forecast is calling for low 30s with possible winter mix.  Isn't that just grand!  It was so nice outside we decided to walk to Kennedy Park . . . remember the park with mouse issues now over run with cats?   Oh my they were not kidding!
Colin LOVED every second with all the cats!  As we were walking back Colin saw churros so we stopped at Manolo for a churro and pappas snack break . . .
. . . and YES he washed his hands and had a mega dose of hand sanitizer before touching the food.  I loved the crossing signs especially when they were 'moving' . . . the bicycle with spinning wheels was fun too . . .

It was back to the hotel to relax until dinner.  We walked back across to Larcomar to grab a quick dinner.  For the tenth time I repacked our suitcases to prepare to have our luggage out before 6am for pick up.  The best part about a group tour is not having to schlep your luggage here and there and it magically gets picked up and delivered to your room.  I am so excited for the first day of the tour tomorrow!
