to Peru

Today starts the beginning of our big summer trip.  I booked this trip in May 2014 . . . put away all the information and today we start hopefully what will be an amazing trip.  The big part of the trip is again with Adventures by Disney . . . we went to Costa Rica with them last year and had so much fun that I booked this trip!  We are going a few days early to explore the greater Lima area on our own with private tour guides that I randomly picked based on trip reviews online . . . let's hope it all works out well.  So, at 5:05am our first flight departs our tiny airport which means we must wake up around 3:00am.  How exciting is that?  As we were driving to the airport Colin says, "what airline makes such crazy flight times . . . long pause . . . better yet why are we on this crack of dawn flight?"  Hmmmm, price is the only thing I can come up with because let's face it the early flights are usually cheaper.  So we arrive at DFW before 6:00am only to have a 3 hour layover until our flight to Miami.  Don't feel too sorry for us since I did use miles to upgrade us to Business Class . . . someone was a little bit happier when I told him this gem of information.  So we arrive in Miami and only have a four hour layover plus add on a 90 minute delay before our flight to Lima.  Since we are in Business Class for an International Flight it isn't all that bad.  Colin really enjoyed the in fight travel kit we each received . . .
. . . he enjoyed it so much he forgot his on the plane!  We get settled in our big comfy seats and dinner is served . . .
. . . yes that is a steak and it was not bad for airplane food.  I was informed it still wasn't as good as his steak on the London flight . . . that one will go down in Colin's flying history as forever the best.  We arrived and off the plane we went.  The best part was immigration was fast and our bags were waiting on the carousel when we arrived.  We turned in our customs paperwork and found our driver that I had arranged in the masses of people.  It was packed full of people even though it was after midnight.  We should have arrived at 10:03pm but it was closer to 12:30am.  By the time we got to the hotel and settled into bed, we had been up 22 hours.  Thankfully we were able to sleep on the plane a little which really helped.

  1. Gotta love business class!! Wish I could fly that way all the time. BTW ~ I'm still chuckling over one of your later posts where you stated you skipped the "Erotic Arts" display. I can only imagine what questions you would have gotten.
