A new month so a new adventure was needed. A few months ago I purchased tickets to see School House Rock Live in Fort Worth so decided to make it an overnight excursion. So off we went! I had researched places to eat with our first stop being for dinner at Greenwood's German and European Restaurant. It is located near the TCU campus on Blue Bird Circle which had several other places that looked good too. As we waited, Colin said this is a family place. Yes, indeed it was and actually we were the only people there under 60. Colin wasn't so thrilled until he saw pretzels on the menu!
When I took the photo it so reminded me of one of my favorites I took of him while in Germany back in 2010 . . .
He loves pretzels! I had jager schnitzel with spatzle and a kleinesalat. The dressing on the salad was so yummy as was the spatzle too. The schnitzel was good but the sauce was just okay.
I would go back so it was overall good. Colin said his pretzel was so good that he ordered one to go. Next we headed to Melt for dessert. Again, a small shop that only had six flavors but each unique too. Colin ordered beans (vanilla), and I had chocolate chocolate. The best part was the cone! It was so good and made right in front of us!
Off to the hotel we went to relax . . .
It was a lazy wake up since our show wasn't until 1:00pm so that was nice. We did get up and eat breakfast but returned to the room to relax! At about that time the fire alarm was blaring for 15 minutes but we never left our room since housekeeping said "no worries, stay." So stay we did. About that time I realized it was the last weekend of the Fort Worth Stock Show which was next to the theater, ugh! I knew traffic and parking could be a challenge so early we went. Of course the free parking was full so 10 bucks for parking we paid. We headed across the street to see our show . . .
Yes, I loved those short educational videos as a kid and have played them for my students too! I'm not totally convinced that it actually teaches anything but you never know. I think I was probably more excited than Colin!
While our seats were front row, they were just okay since we were located on the side of the stage.
During the intermission I walked to the center near the last row . . .
. . . much better! Next time I know that center any row is better than side front row. They were not bad but would not buy that section again. The show was cute and fun and short! It was back on the road to home to enjoy the rest of our weekend!
