It was a bumpy night at sea . . . the hangers were clanging all night until I finally got up and took them down. While it wasn't bad it was noticeable. Now remember that guaranteed balcony cabin I booked? Never, ever again! NEVER. It was loud . . . I don't know if it was workers or passengers moving the chairs but come on people stop it! I am talking some time between 2am-5am the chairs or tables were being painfully drug across the deck above! Colin didn't seem to notice, but I sure did! The good thing is since we are sea today then I know there will be a guaranteed nap time. So we head out to explore the ship. Our first stop is the SeaPlex which is the most awesome area of the ship! Depending on the time of day you can either roller skate, play basketball, participate in the trapeze school, bumper cars or several other fun activities! Yes, bumper cars since we have seen ads for this ship we have been so excited about these bumper cars!
They line was long and as we waited we saw this guy roaming around . . .
Even though the line was long for bumper cars it was awesome and worth the wait! Where else can you ride bumper cars while in the middle of the sea? We made a stop in the arcade, but Colin had issues with his SeaPass card so we head to customer service to give him access to spend money which I already did yesterday! Since we slept so late we head to an early lunch at Cafe two70.
Colin ate quickly and then ditched me to return to the SeaPlex to play in the xbox room . . . yes, upstairs from the bumper car area is a room where you can hang out and play xbox. I'm not thrilled but it does save me some money in the arcade! So I am left all alone . . . it is nice but sad too. I just sort of finish my lunch and enjoy the view . . .
. . . and set out to wander around the ship and return to the cabin to enjoy that much needed nap! Another annoying thing with this newer cabin is the thermostat is controlled and you must have your SeaPass inserted for the air conditioner to stay on when you leave your cabin. Ummm no that isn't going to happen! So I pull out my National Park Pass with a magnetic strip and just leave it there . . . problem solved because it shows the room occupied and stays nice and cool too! Colin returned and was so hungry so we ordered room service! Room service is included and only suggest a small cash tip. I will say this ship has the most limited menu and not all items on the menu are free.
. . . still a nice snack that only cost us $2! Tonight we had dinner in the American Icon which was better than last night. This is also a much different dinner experience. Usually you are assigned a set dining room, set table, same servers, and time (either 6pm or 8:30pm), but this ship has four separate dining rooms and you pick each night which one you want to go to. We aren't sure if we like this or not . . . Colin really enjoys the attention of having the same table and same service staff . . . you really get to know your servers and they too learn what you like and really take care of you. So day two has come to an end and tomorrow we wake up at our island!
