And just like that I am back on a plane home. I again picked a specific seat (4F) just in case the weather was good to get one last look at the snow capped mountains, but today was not the day!
However the lunch was delicious! Probably one of the best I have had on a plane in a long time!
As I sat at DFW waiting for my connecting flight to my town, I sat next to a couple. There was something about the voice that was familiar to me but could not figure out why. I looked at them several times but the faces were not familiar to me either. Then the lady said something and the bell went off! It was my 10th grade English teacher, Mrs. Rentz. Ironically her husband also taught both of my parents . . . anyway our eyes met and I told her that I had been trying to figure out who she was for the last 20 minutes. She had no clue who I was until I told her my name. We chatted until our flight boarded for Waco. It was a short 21 minute flight to Waco and as soon as we flew over the Brazos I knew we were almost home . . .
. . . as we got off the plane, I chatted with the Rentzs' and then we went our separate ways. Isn't it funny how you bump into your teachers many, many years later? It had been about 25 years! I was in a hurry to get home because Colin had texted me the day before saying he was missing me . . . let's see how long that last!
