Florida Fun Day 2

The car was packed . . . note all three teenagers are smiling too!

We are moving to our beach condo today, and I am so excited.  I was really thrilled to be leaving behind the awful heat wave we are having in Texas for the cooler yet humid beach temperatures!

 

I have had this place on my list for a long time and finally we are going to Sanibel Island!  We were lucky that the condo was ready early at 1:00pm so we quickly unloaded the car and huffed it all up to the 4th floor!  Of course we are on the top floor but this is what we saw when we walked into the condo . . .

Not too shabby but that is just half of the balcony as it wraps around and we have a full on beach front view!  We are looking forward to our vacation at Sundial Beach Resort!  Our condo is in building O-406.  It is the nicest and biggest condo we have stayed at as a group! 

The teens decided they needed some time to just relax so we hung out and admired the views . . . for a teenager that means they charged their phones and checked on social media accounts while taking selfies too.  Instead of cooking dinner or eating out, me and the three teens ran to pick up dinner at The Pecking Order . . .

It was some good friend chicken but I really enjoyed the sides the most; mashed potatoes with gravy, cheesy grits, and collard greens.  We, and by we I mean the moms, cleaned up the kitchen . . . and all headed out for some beach time!  The one thing about Sanibel Island is it is known for all the shells . . . lots of shells.

I was amazed at how easy it was to find nice shells.  I might have gone a little overboard but it was so fun and addicting too!

The teens were not so thrilled as the waves were very small . . .

It was getting late so we called it a night and headed to the pool for a few minutes . . . great way to clean off the beach sand . . . and to the condo to hang out for the night and clean shells.

I told you I went a bit overboard but these were collected in less than 1 hour just by me!
