Florida Fun day 4

It is our last full day on Sanibel Island and our phones have been blowing up with alerts about the red tide situation and the hazardous beach conditions.  Thankfully the weather is good and we are able to meet Doc Bruce from Sanibel Sea School for our morning tour.  The teens are thrilled to get up, ready and out the door by 8:30am . . . little do they know this isn't just a ride on a boat but an educational tour.
They should not be surprised as we always do something educational on our trips.  Doc Bruce is no joke as he is all about education and learning and quickly starts quizzing the half awake teens.
We arrive at an area and get out with the net to see what we can catch . . .
Look at the baby shrimp!
We all really enjoyed our time on the boat and in the water with Doc Bruce . . . calling it a day and heading back to shore . . .
The pool is calling and back we go!  The adults could not resist the urge for one more walk on the beach to look for shells, but it is short lived due to the smell and constant coughing.  I was surprised we did not see more birds around eating the dead fish . . . this is the only one and he was just hanging out in the water.
We decide we don't need any more shells . . . the pool is calling me!  Not only is the inside of the condo very nice but the grounds are just beautiful too . . .
Late afternoon these cute guys come out in full force . . .
. . . they are everywhere.  Another odd thing about Sanibel Island is we find a lot of places close really early!  We decide we need a sweet treat and head out to one of the only places open or as Colin calls it the stop sign of Texas.  We return to the condo to hang out, relax, and pack.
