one last trip

It has been a L-O-N-G time since I have written on here . . . SO much has been going on that I don't even know where to begin! So let's see if I can do a quick wrap up . . . if you know me there is nothing 'quick' when I sit down to play catch up, LOL.

Thanksgiving came and went, and I found myself across the big pond . . . okay so it doesn't just happen that easily as it had been planned since mid-July. It was a quick 7 days of being on the move but relaxing too! Oh and the best part? It was Christmas time!!!! I so enjoyed being back in Europe during all the markets and Christmas season. The adventure started in Strasbourg, France which was a nice city . . . great place to just walk around and enjoy . . . and they had great Christmas lights at night.

Next stop was a quick drive south to Colmar, France . . . not that impressed except for this little market that was so cutely decorated . . . but there was a castle/fortress on the way we stopped at that was nice not to mention c-o-l-d and the only time I saw snow . . . grated it was only about a dozen but NO SNOW while in Europe or DC . . . too bad Monkey Mountain was closed during December.

Then to Baden-Baden, Germany . . . OH MY! If you don't know about Baden-Baden go google it. Let's just say this is the only photo I took . . .
. . . and man I wish I would have gone more while I lived over there. Talk about liberating and so relaxing too. I swear it wasn't a big deal at all! LMAO!

On to Stuttgart, Germany for a really huge Christmas Market that was packed with tons of people . . . it was mid-week and could not get over all the crowds. This train was so cute and always packed with kids and adults! Colin would have had a blast.
Okay so I have to insert a little story about Stuttgart . . . we stayed a really nice hotel across from the train station . . . after checking in I was opening all the drawers and closets . . . as I hung up a shirt I was going to wear the next day I commented on how impressed I was at some of the things they had in the room to use . . . so fast forward to the next day and about 20 minutes outside of Stuttgart when I realized I left something hanging in the closet. I did not mention as I did not want to waste time by turning around and go back . . . so about 45 minutes later I mentioned I thought I left my favorite red rain jacket . . . was SO very mad at myself for the rest of the drive! As we pulled into the parking garage I became pretty certain the jacket was in fact in my backpack, but I knew something was left hanging . . . after checking the back pack I was correct but still bothered to what was hanging . . . I knew something was there because I was very impressed with the nice hanger that I used . . . I know only I would comment on the quality of a hanger. So like a lightning bolt it hit me . . . it was one of my favorite shirts! I have let it go . . . okay maybe not since I just wrote a super long paragraph about it . . . it cost $10 so no big deal . . . moving along . . . oh and you know one day in the near future there will be a photo montage of me wearing that shirt, LOL.

Finally to Heidelberg, Germany . . . I had been to Heidelberg before but never really seen the city. Of course I wanted to go see the castle and swear we had the best tour guide possible. He was a young architecture professor at the university in Heidelberg . . . he spoke great English and added funny stories along the way; really was good. In the beginning of the tour he pointed out that the Army headquarters were in this city and most of his neighbors were soldiers . . . he was happy as they would keep him in supply of Dr. Pepper . . . OMG, from that point on I SO wanted a Dr. Pepper and if you know where I live you know how ironic he mention Dr. Pepper.

Then it was a quick train ride to Frankfurt to catch a flight back to the USA . . . had a short layover in DC . . .

and finally home to Texas!
