half-way home

Finally . . . I am all caught up!

Well, we have been busy, busy, busy . . . I sure don't like wasting time but some days we need a day or two to do absolutely nothing! Okay, so doing laundry doesn't count but it sure does keep me busy! I spent ten hours yesterday doing laundry . . . those who live/lived in Germany know that is about 5-6 loads! We had been gone for 11 days and came back with nothing clean . . . nothing! Tomorrow, we head out for yet another adventure! I am already looking at the calendar and wondering where all the time has gone? Of course I am already thinking we need one extra week . . . just what my parents want to hear but of course will not change our tickets. There is something called school and work that we can't miss . . . I guess I could home-school Colin and that would count for his school and my work, LOL.

Last year someone commented that I make traveling with a child look so easy . . . did you hear me laugh? I thought I would take a second to write a little about traveling with a kiddo in tow. It can be hard . . . it is hard . . . trust me we both have our moments! I wrote about one of my not-so-proud parenting moments while in London. I have learned it is what you make it . . . I can make it harder on myself than I should some days but for the most part am still learning to be more flexible. I have a little thing that is a big flaw . . . it is called a sense of urgency . . . when I get something in my mind; we must do it right then. I will probably get it figured out when he turns 18 and wants to go to Europe alone . . . like I will let that happen! We seem to have hit a groove and know how to react. Let's hope the second half is just as much fun as the first half!
