Oh yes we are finally headed back across the big pond after a two year absence from visiting Europe! Oh how I have longed to go back to place that I just love and feel so comfortable . . . wish I could afford to live there but well it is just too expensive . . . anyway back on topic. We left yesterday and the flight was good. We were wedged in two seats in the 'cheap' seats but I was okay with that since in theory we needed to get settled and go to sleep! Colin told me that he was staying awake the entire flight while I had other plans for him! Needless to say, I won that issue and he was asleep within 10 minutes of taking off and I woke him 30 minutes before landing . . . so he slept about 8 of the 9 hours! We were both rested and ready to hit the ground when we arrived at London Heathrow at 11:35am. We took our time getting off the plane . . . Colin was watching them unload the baggage and we were the last two off the plane!
We hardly saw anyone on our way out. We made our way to immigration which took 2 minutes, then our bags were the only two still circling the baggage claim, and made a quick restroom stop to brush our teeth! I accidentally hit the soap dispenser on my toothbrush and did it taste bad! We made our way to the arrival gates and found our sign . . .
Logan is so sweet to greet us with a sign . . . Colin was so excited to see her! I too was happy to see the entire P family! We headed into London to their flat right in the heart of London! How nice is it to live just a couple of blocks from a tube stop? We all sat down and visited but two members of the P family had homework so the other three of us headed out to Regents Park before I could fall asleep! We grabbed three pieces of bread to hopefully keep Colin entertained with birds while Patti and I caught up! We stopped at the playground area for Colin to let off some energy . . . man this kid has tons these days!
We convinced him to get off and to walk some more . . . we finally found the birds for him to feed!
He was so happy, and we were amazed at how long he could make one slice of bread last! These two got a little too close . . .
We told him to give bigger pieces or he would end up without the end of a finger! It was getting dark so we headed back to the flat. The five of us headed down the street to Pizza Express which was yummy! I was so ready for a shower and bed! It was a great day and can't wait for the rest of the trip!
