We were in the Dallas area this weekend for a family wedding so decided to spend one extra day to celebrate Colin's 9th birthday! The day started with a Birthday Breakfast hosted by Uncle Tommy; who went above and beyond putting together a festive conference room for family to hang out and celebrate! Colin was SO excited . . .
WOW, how oh how did my sweet baby boy turn 9 already? First stop was the Lego Store to pick out one thing he wanted without me objecting . . .
Indeed it was hard for me to stand back but sadly the store was so picked over! What he wanted was not there so we just picked up a 'back up' and will order the 'real one' . . . kids! I was fine with that as we made it out of the store for about $40! We headed down the road to the Gaylord Texan to check in for the night and visit the ICE!
It was super cool and super COLD too! Our last stop for the birthday boy celebration was dinner at Medieval Times. We had never been so had no idea what to expect. It was a total overpriced tourist place, and Colin complained about having to wait an hour before we could get inside. I agree it was a long drawn out process and them trying to get you to buy crappy overpriced stuff was annoying, but once inside he leaned over to me and said, "okay this is cool I don't want to leave after all." Well that was good because we were not leaving since I paid a small fortune.
The food was much better than I expected and all had a fun day! I still can't believe my baby is 9, sigh! I guess I should enjoy because we both have 'milestone' birthdays next time.
