The next mission was to find a Starbucks . . . sort of nuts as we are in the town where it all began! Can you believe they were all closed due to it being New Year's Day? We finally found a kiosk open that had us smiling and on our way! Did I mention what a nice, sunny day it was? It was so beautiful I decided we just had to walk everywhere . . . and just like that there it was!
We had tickets to go to the top but first decided to stop by the Pacific Science Center to see if maybe they had tickets to the sold out King Tut exhibit. It was our lucky day as some tickets had been returned so we got a tour later in the day. Less than a block away was the Chihuly Glass and Garden that was part of the Space Needle combo ticket . . .
This was my favorite; I just loved the bright colors!
King Tut tickets were at 11:45 so had to get moving . . .
Now I know why no one was at the other museum . . . they were all at the King Tut exhibit! Holy smokes it was packed! I mean so crowded that it was almost not enjoyable but glad we got tickets and went. The audio guide was a must so you could listen as you were herded thorough the rooms like animals! No photography was allowed inside which honestly was probably impossible anyway. I was glad to see the exhibit but would have preferred it to be less crowded. Oh well off to the next stop . . . The Space Needle! The line was short and not crowded at all! It was a super quick 40 seconds! Now that was fast . . . walked around the top and enjoyed the views on such a beautiful day . . .
Another quick 40 second ride back down and outside to explore the city more on foot! We wandered over to Pike's Place Market only to find it closed due to the holiday so headed back to the hotel for a nice nap! As soon as the Executive Lounge opened it was upstairs for free appetizers and drinks! The night ended with dinner at the Rock Bottom Brewery with a sample of all the locally made spirits. Fingers crossed tomorrow is just as beautiful!
