to Alaska

Yiipppeeee we are finally back in travel mode . . . hello Spring Break 2013!  Yes, we are headed to cold, snowy Alaska.  I know, I know who the heck goes to a cold place on Spring Break?  Well, people from Texas where the temperatures were in the mid 60s as we boarded the plane.  I scheduled a flight for after school/work so we did not have to miss a day.  It seemed like an awesome idea at the time.  Our first flight arrived at DFW early only to be met by a jet bridge that would not work!  Great, you know those little commuter planes get the 'left over' equipment.  Finally after 20 minutes they figured it out!  We had plenty of time to grab dinner before we boarded the next flight to Seattle plus I used miles to upgrade so no worries.  We boarded the plane and it had that new car smell . . . several passengers were commenting to the flight attendant (Is that what they are still called?), and she said the plane was only 3 weeks old!  It was sweet or maybe the fact we were sitting in row 4 was what was really sweet?  We arrived in Seattle after 9pm waiting for our 11pm flight to Alaska . . . yep not feeling so great at this point.  The best part was the entertainment of the wacko people roaming around terminal C.  I mean those Wal-Mart people looked over dressed compared to some of these folks roaming around; it amazes me what people wear in public these days . . . and I'm not talking about young children in pajamas!  We board our final flight and the day is almost done.  As we drove to the hotel, I was hoping to see the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) since it was so late/early and super dark . . . no such luck!  I think we will be sleeping the next two days!
