Aaahhhh I could get used to waking up to this everyday! I try to sneak downstairs in the morning before anyone wakes up. I turn on the fireplace and curl up on the couch looking out back at the snow, trees, and mountains. This house is amazingly beautiful . . . I don't think I would rent out my house if it was this nice! Seriously I would be living in it! I had no clue what it was valued at but a few doors down there is another one for sale at only $800,000! I think the one we are staying in is nicer and backs up to an open area so probably cost more. I can not imagine owning a house like this! Anyway, the kids are back at ski school today, and I am heading back out to the snow shoe trails! I woke up feeling great and energized. Before we sent the kids off for the day I took a photo of the three kiddos . . .
How sweet! They are all getting along, LOL! Well at least for the moment. We decided to head to the back country trails today and give the Engleman trail a try . . . it is suppose to be 6km but not sure we will do the entire loop. We are cheating a little and taking the gondola to Peak 7 and then starting. The trails are much steeper and narrower and not a person in sight! Hopefully we will see some wildlife. The moose is still on the loose and charged a man this morning so we are on high alert. I loved this rustic cabin . . .
I was amazed at how quiet it was outside. All I could hear was us chatting along. The trails are much narrower and a lot less traveled. I love this. The sun was so bright and so many animal tracks in the undisturbed snow . . .
We did not see any wildlife until the trek back . . .
. . . can you see it? How cool is that? M had a good eye and noticed him/her! It was the only wildlife we saw the last 3 days! Time was ticking by quickly so had to get back for a late lunch . . . another bowl of vegetable chili . . . and a quick stop at the house to warm up . . .
. . . and check email too! I got busted. There was no sense of urgency to go stalk the kids today so just hung out at the bast of Peak 8 soaking up so rays . . .
It is also some great people watching too! Colin was in a not so pleasant mood when I arrived for pick up and insisted on "no more photos" . . . I think he realized he was being rude and humored me with another photo of his instructor today . . .
The kids agreed she was a great teacher. Afer getting the daily report we should have gone earlier and watched them as they were on the big runs today . . . they are getting way too good at skiing. I am going to have to pay someone to go up with them in a few years. We headed back to the house for a little play time in the snow . . .
. . . and smores!
We are all very sad to leave tomorrow! I can't wait to start planning our next snow trip.

You are officially a ski bunny! The rental house sounds wonderful. Think you'll return to the same place next year?
ReplyDeleteWell not sure about that; I do have fun but am sure not a skier! I would not mind staying at this house again or in the White Wolf area BUT if we could get a good deal in the fancy houses we are there! Lodging and Transportation are M's task; I do activities and food! I have a feeling she will be "bargaining" for the big houses!
