Day 4: Yellowstone or BUST

We departed Jackson a little later than expected but that was okay; I'm going with the flow on this trip . . . well to a point at least. We made a quick stop downtown to snap this photo . . .
Since our final destination was Yellowstone National Park today, I wanted to at least drive through Grand Teton National Park on the way. The drive was beautiful!  One of our stops was at the Chapel of Sacred Heart. The views outside the chapel were beautiful especially all the yellow flowers!
We made a lunch stop at Oxbow Bend for a picnic lunch and animal watch; we say nothing.  It was perfect though! The drive was nice, and FINALLY . . .
. . . we were there!  After over a year of planning, cancelling, replanning, and robooking we were here!  Of course you know I had a detailed list of places to see each and everyday and had a plan to make our first stop at the West Thumb Geyser Basin which was cool!
The photos don't show the beautiful colors but loved this stop and it was just the first one!  Then we headed to the Mud Volcano Walk where we spotted our first bison/buffalo!  The argument of bison or buffalo would continue all week.  It was pretty cool and people literally go nuts when they see wildlife.  Of course he just continued with his business as if we were not even there.
Last stop for the day was the Sulphur Caldron . . .
And then to our cabin in the Canyon area . . .
. . . cute with no technology!  We stayed in the Western Cabins at the Canyon Lodge.  I was surprised at how nice they really were; I mean you hear cabin and think oh no!  They had an awesome shower and was very clean too.  Seriously, I had no phone service which means no internet, no texting, and no checking email.  Honestly it sure was quiet, but I thought it was great!
