It was a not so cheap fill up of the rental car at only $6.15 per gallon of gasoline . . . glad we only had to put in half a tank! The flight was early but it was a very long day of traveling. Again we are flying on a 737-combi and as we are all boarded the pilot comes on the speaker to announce the fuel truck has broken down on the way to the airport. Are you kidding me? We have super tight connection times so more than an hour and we are totally screwed! We go from:
Nome, Alaska to Anchorage, Alaska
Anchorage, Alaska to Seattle, Washington
Seattle, Washington to Santa Ana, California
We depart Nome around 9am and arrive in California at 10pm, so a long day! After about 40 minutes the fuel truck shows up and does his job. We made our connection in Anchorage just fine and as we were flying it was super cool to view the glaciers from above!
It was a perfect day for flying even if it is going to be a long day but hey today is the beginning of vacation from vacation. Sounds odd but I knew after two weeks of non stop movement in Alaska we would need a break; so where does on go? The happiest place on Earth of course . . . Disneyland! I so sold it to Colin and he is beyond excited. We have been several times but really do enjoy both the parks there. When we arrived in Seattle we were excited to see the Disneyland planes . . .
. . . too bad we got one of the boring planes! I tell you I sure wish Alaska Airlines had more options near us because they have been very enjoyable to fly on the last few weeks!
