Well just a block from the hotel was a Bruegger's Bagels. I used to love that place when I was in college. It was a great way to start my day (plain bagel with honey walnut cream cheese) and even Colin ate one too minus the cream cheese of course. Now it is Disneyland here we come!!! I can't wait to get the vacation from vacation started. Of course those who have been to any Disney theme park know it sure isn't a vacation, but I promised myself I would take it nice and slow! We will see how that works out over the next three days. We checked in early at the hotel next door to the Disney California Adventure Park. Surprisingly, they had our room ready so we dropped our bags and headed out for some FUN. Colin loved the fact that you could see the monorail from our balcony!
We made a quick change and headed out to buy our 3 day park hopper tickets! First stop was California Adventure so the little thrill seeker could have some fun! Always have to snap a photo or two . . .
Of course Colin wanted to head right to Paradise Pier area so he could ride the BIG roller coaster, California Screamin' . . . I was thrilled beyond words. Check out the before and during photos . . .
. . . and no I did not ride with him! After a few hours of fun it was time to kick back at the pool to relax for a few hours! Colin loves this pool and I love the people from the snack shop that bring me drinks! My favorite is a Pina Colava (pina colada with a swirl of raspberry); oh yes it is that amazing!
We headed back to the room to freshen up and head to Disneyland. I love Disneyland! It was faster to walk through California Adventure to get to Disneyland. The crowds were not bad for a Saturday either! I was sad that my favorite ride, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, was closed for refurbishment. Too bad! We had dinner at one of my favorites, Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue. Colin was so motivated about the ribs . . .
. . . and then he was D-O-N-E!
I told Colin he could go on 3 rides before we called it a day: Tea Cups, Buzz Lightyear and Autotopia it was. Now that he was finally tall enough he insisted on driving the car all alone at Autotopia . . .
. . . it is hard to push the pedal and drive even for me . . . he said never again did he want to drive alone! Lesson learned at least . ..
Colin's favorite ride today: California Screamin'
Heidi's favorite ride today: Soarin' over California
