. . . better known as Aggieland to us! The last few years we have attended the first home game of the Aggies . . . I actually bought tickets this year from some other Aggie online who could not attend to guarantee us a seat . . .
. . . not a bad location (our seats were on the 50 yard line) but the heat was beyond words terrible! Typical Texas H-O-T!!! I guess that is to be expected with a noon kickoff in late August in Texas! Of course Johnny did not play until the second half, and he did not disappoint!
We had a great time enjoying the game and it has been nice to see Colin finally start to understand Aggie football and all the wonderful Aggie traditions too! Colin seems to enjoy all the pre-game activities that go on around campus. I think his absolute favorite is watching the Corps of Cadets march-in . . .
. . . I tried to get him to move on before they all passed by us, but he was not having any part of that so we stayed and watched every last one! I could see a grin on his face . . . Sean would no doubt be proud! Back to the game . . . it was hot and I hate to admit we did leave a tad bit before it was over. Let's just say someone was hot and dizzy and light headed. On our way out it made me sad to see that G. Rollie White Coliseum was just a pile of rubble . . .
. . . so many fond memories in that building . . . my first Aggie Muster, meeting for KINE 199 classes, basketball games, and of course where I walked the stage (twice) to get my diplomas. Sad, sad, I tell you but it is what happens when they decide to build bigger and better buildings. We zipped by the cemetery for a quick visit. Colin always enjoys seeing what things are left on Sean's headstone . . .
. . . he was fascinated by the shot glass and happy that a helicopter he left almost 3 years ago is still there too! I dread the day we go and it is not there! It was a great weekend and looking forward to having an extra day off on Monday too!
