Today was a day of delay, after delay all day long! I was beginning to think we were not going to even leave Texas, but we finally boarded after almost four hours of waiting! Now the plane we are on has to be one of the oldest I have ever been on . . . those huge TVs are so big and bulky and everything looks old. We arrived safely so that is all that matters. I was amazed at how fast we zipped through customs and our bags arrived fast too! Maybe the fact it was almost midnight and the workers were ready to leave? I was feeling nervous as we are on our own, and I don't speak Spanish . . . thankfully the hotel we were staying had a van outside and we zipped a few blocks away to the Hampton Inn. As I was checking in, Colin decided to make himself a hot chocolate at midnight . . . well isn't this grand! We were in bed by 1:00am because tomorrow starts our adventure with an early morning tour!

to Costa Rica
I have always wanted to explore other parts of the world . . . we have spent a lot of time in Europe . . . so thought Spring Break was the perfect time to head south or well to Central America. I have read so much about Costa Rica the last few years. I really am not that comfortable heading to this area so thought a guided tour would be a good idea. The one thing I really wanted was a group that was small, family oriented and had kid friendly activities . . . so after some research decided to go with Adventures by Disney. Now don't think this is all theme park and people dressed as characters. While it does have that touch of magic it is all adventure and exploring the local cultures. Well, at least that is what they tell me . . . I will be sure to comment on that at the end of the trip! I was antsy and nervous about what to pack and how in the world would I fit in with a group of strangers for an entire week! This is a big change in our usual travel planning. Seriously, I just show up and someone else does everything? Almost sounds too good to be true. The actual tour doesn't start until late Monday so we are flying in a couple of days early to explore on our own!
