Virginia Beach, Virginia

School is out for the summer and off we go.  Our first trip of the summer is to the Virginia Beach area to visit family or as Colin calls them his 'crazy cousins'.  No, they are not crazy but three older boys and one sweet girl that he doesn't get to see very often . . . and as a bonus his grandparents are there too along with his aunt (the crazy cousins' mom).  So off to see Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Lisa, Jake, Tim, Sam, and Megan . . .

We arrived around dinner and for the first time ever, I checked both our bags and did not carry on a change of clothes so you guessed it . . . Colin's suitcase was left in Dallas.  Thankfully, it was delivered in the wee hours so today was looking much better!  I lost sleep at the thought of having to go buy clothes.  The weather forecast calls for rain just about the entire time we are here.  So today when we went outside it was sunny, we changed our plans to head to the beach!  It was sunny and hot and humid when we left the house but by the time we arrived at the beach it was cloudy and very windy . . . the kids didn't seem to mind so we set up our stuff and the kids hit the water . . .

. . . and sand!  Colin wanted Tim to bury him so Colin dug the hole . . . 

. . . and Tim covered him up.  That wasn't good enough so Tim made him look like a mermaid . . .

It was a great few hours at the beach!  Colin is having a blast hanging out with his cousins!
