Day 1: Phoenix, AZ

Hello Phoenix . . . I picked Colin up a little early from school and off to the airport we went.  Now a few months ago when we planned this trip Colin had off of school Friday and Monday and then Texas was hit with an ice storm.  The day before Spring Break the roads were hazardous so school was cancelled.  The higher ups at his school district decided we would make the day up on Monday!  Thankfully I had booked our plane tickets back on the last flight for Sunday.  The plan was to have Monday to relax since we would arrive back to Texas so late . . . so much for the 4 day weekend BUT we had three full days to enjoy Phoenix!

Our flight there was great and our sun/ski friends would be arriving within ten minutes of us.  Since we did not get to ski this winter, we are linking up for some fun in the sun!  Well, that did not work out but they arrived within an hour and we were off!  The rental car was picked up . . . don't ever ask a 9, 11, and 12 year old which car they want because all three will want a different car!  Since our flights were late we missed the Manager's Reception at the Embassy Suites Biltmore so no free drinks or snacks.  We unload our bags and walked across the street for dinner!  The trio of kids were full of energy so it was fun to walk around outdoors and let them be kids.  We ended up splitting up for dinner but ended the night together for a sweet treat . . .

. . . GELATO!  Wow, this was some awesome gelato . . . if you ever see a place called FROST:  A Gelato Shoppe, give it a try!  The night was over and we can't wait to explore the area tomorrow!
