It was a slow wake up and officially the last full day of our trip. We had a nice breakfast at the hotel. The weather was suppose to be not so good with rain forecasted all day. I really did not have any firm plans for today so decided to head to the Boston Tea Party Museum. It wasn't raining yet so we walked. It was about a 15 minutes walk from the hotel and cool outside.
Now this is museum that is interactive and you participate in part of the tour. You are assigned a person from that time period and play that part. All of our people did not have speaking parts which was fine by us. It was fun and educational.
Today I was . . .
Along the way we also watched a couple video clips, visited a room with one of the two remaining tea chest still around, and listened to our tour guide give historical facts and information. We then boarded a ship and looked around and then it was time for Tea Overboard . . .
Since the weather was looking nice at this point we headed back to the Boston Common area to the Public Garden. I saw this and just had to go on a ride . . .
. . . it was fun. Colin found about a dozen real fowl that he wanted to smuggle back to Texas to keep at Papa's house. Next stop was to find these guys . . .
Statue in the Garden to pay tribute to Robert McCloskey and his book Make Way for Ducklings . . . I am sure just about everyone has read this book as a child. Speaking of children . . . when we spotted the ducks there was no one around so we slowly made our way closer. About that time a dozen little kids showed up and took endless photos. One mother yelled and took about a hundred photos of her sweethearts Danny and Katherine having them pose together and alone . . . we heard her call their names a million times. By this point about four families with older or no kids just wanted a photo with no one on the ducks. Colin and I being silly . . .
. . . you take what you can get! Across the street was the inspiration for the TV Show Cheers.
My dad loved this show so we decided to pop in for a snack and ordered some appetizers. Next time will just walk around and snap a photo . . . super slow service and not that great. And just like that it was back to the hotel to pack and check out so we could head to the airport hotel for our flight tomorrow morning.

When I was a child and my parents took us to Boston, riding the Swan Boats was a huge treat! I agree about Cheers -- just visit, not worth eating. I am really enjoying the blog posts about this New England trip, Heidi.
