Bremerton, Washington

So it is a Sunday in Washington . . . the Seahawks are playing and they are out in full force in Bremerton catching the ferry to head to Seattle.  Every time I see any type of Seahawks gear that mentions the 12s, I cringe.  Thankfully, Texas A&M University enforced the copyrights to our phrase '12th Man' . . . they can be the 12s all they want but the Aggies are the original and only 12th Man!  Anyway, we woke up early and had some time to waste before our planned activity.  So we drove to the Naval Base to check out some of the old decommissioned ships that are now mothballed or just used for spare parts.  It was pretty cool to see them but man that is a lot of tax dollars just sitting there too!  We still had an hour so we parked at the dock and headed to Starbucks for a warm drink and to watch all the fans board the ferry to Seattle.  We were the only people not wearing the local colors!  It was about time for the USS Turner Joy to open so off we went.
It was like a ghost ship and we only saw two other people the entire hour we were there.  It was really nice to have the ship basically to ourselves.  I even let Colin wander around on his own; so no photos of him.  In fact I only took five photos the entire time while we were on board so I guess fun was had by all!
