. . . I wasn't impressed, but I bet the fireworks are amazing! All you can really see is Tower of Terror on the right and directly in front is the backside of Cars Land. There is no way I would pay for the view but with a free upgrade that is fine by me. We were awakened early that planned by thunder; like loud Texas thunder and rain. We zip downstairs for our free breakfast which is amazing . . . the perks of Hilton Honors status . . . back to the room to grab our bags, take a taxi to new hotel, and check in to our new room! We drop our bags and head to Disney's California Adventure . . . Colin's favorite of the two parks! By the time we enter the park, it is sunny and cool outside but the rain has moved out so we are thrilled! It is about 10:00am when we enter and make our first stop to get a Fast Pass for Radio Springs Racers in Cars Land; our return time is between 4:55pm-5:55pm so again a long wait but we have plenty to keep us busy. The rides are more limited here so we know we are going to be standing in lines a lot longer. Colin's favorite ride, California Screamin', is down so we head to Toy Story Midway Mania for a 45 minute wait . . . we both love this one and again get a little too competitive!
Oh and I won the game so I am sure at some point there will be a rematch! Now there are certain rides I just do not ride and one of them is the Silly Symphony Swings . . . never have . . . well until today. Colin twisted my arm and I could not wait for it to be over. I think I was doing my childbirth breathing the entire time . . . it was not fun at all and I was so ready for it to end . . . as for Colin he rides it back-to-back-to back!
. . . and that isn't as high as it goes. Oh I hated it so badly! Now this is more my speed . . .
As the carousel was ending, California Screamin' opened so off Colin went! The line was short so he jumped in line, and I pulled Fast Passes. The good part for him is that I will not ride this ride so he can ride it twice! At some point while he was waiting in line, he heard someone mention there was a single rider line. So we asked and sure enough there is which meant he rode it at least 3 more times until I said enough! We grabbed two more Fast Passes before heading to lunch. I enjoyed my Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake dessert and Colin had a churro of course!
. . . and he zipped back to the roller coaster. If you look at my pictures it is obvious where we spent most of our day!
There is also "a bug's land' which is geared towards small kids but we went and it was super cute! He did humor me and ride Tuck and Roll's Drive 'Em Buggies . . . bumper cars that went slower than anyone can walk! There were so many cute details though . . .
. . . and then to Cars Land . . . you really do feel as if you are in the movie . . .
See those 'rocks' at the top . . . the back side of that is the 'park view' from the hotel last night!
It was finally time for our last ride with our Fast Pass so to Radiator Springs Racers we went . . .
It really is a cool ride and the wait time ranges from 90-120 minutes without a fast pass! Yeah, well it isn't that good. It is a one time ride since the wait is always crazy long. It was to the hotel we went since we were tired. We went to our room and relaxed a bit before dinner. We were both tired so decided to just eat downstairs at Storyteller's Cafe. We usually eat there for breakfast because it is a character meal which we love. Take my advice . . . do not, I repeat do not eat the dinner buffet! It is blah, blah, blah food that was very expensive. I was hopeful the desserts would redeem the buffet . . . the desserts looked so good . . .
. . . and well they were nothing to remember! A recap of our day . . .
