Today is an Extra Magic Hour morning . . . which means if you are staying in a certain hotel or have a certain ticket you can enter the park one hour before the official opening. While it sounds less crowded; I promise you it is not but you can ride some of the popular rides with short or no lines! We were at the gates for rope drop at 7:55am and when the rope dropped at 8:00am, we were on the move! Before the official opening, we were able to ride Hyper Space Mountain two times, Matterhorn Bobsleds two times, Alice in Wonderland once, and Buzz Lightyear once too. So 6 rides in the one hour is pretty amazing in my opinion!
Okay so maybe the Alice in Wonderland isn't such a big deal but every time I check the wait time it is always at least 40 minutes so when it said 20 we got in line and it was only about a 10 minute wait . . . plus the line started where we got off the Matterhorn Bobsleds. I might have bribed a certain someone with a churro and might have seen a slight eye roll at the suggestion of this ride. I promised it was a 'one and done' ride. Sadly, the churro stands did not open until 9:00 and we got the first two of the morning. Did I mention there are probably at least 20 churro stands inside Disneyland? The rest of our morning went like this:
Just before we ate lunch we rode Splash Mountain . . . again this is another ride that I don't normally ride. I watched and people getting off did not seem that wet so decided to give it a go . . . not sure why, but I guess I was feeling adventurous today . . .
I got soaked! I had planned it so if this happened we were headed to the hotel anyway. We exited the park at exactly 1:00pm with semi tired feet and a full belly. The only thing we needed was a nap and no better place than by the pool! It is nice outside and the pool is heated so this was a perfect spot for me to take a nap. Colin was able to swim and have fun in the pool before we headed back out tonight! This is our last day of our 3-day Park Hopper ticket so we must get our money's worth!
We returned to California Adventure around 5:30pm. We headed directly to California Screamin' where Colin used the Single Rider line so many times that I lost count.
. . . and stopped even trying to find him on the picture wall. He is always looking happy . . . I know he at least rode it five times in 45 minutes and then I gave up count! He did humor me and take this photo!
We exited the park at 8:00pm when it closed. We had thought about going back to Disneyland but decided to call it a day!
We are tired and tired of always walking down the super long hallway to our room which happens to be at the end of the super long hallway!
. . . but it is so nice to be next door to our hotel when we are d-o-n-e at the parks too!
