Keystone, Colorado day 2

Oh did I ever sleep so well last night . . . however I am still not feeling that great but when you have limited time, you just have to suck it up and go.  It is snowing outside so today should be interesting.  I think this is the first time we have been skiing that it actually snowed while here.  We are literally a 2 minute walk to ski school so thankfully we don't have to be there until 9:15am which means we have a nice slow start.  I do not like to ski . . . actually I can't imagine ever trying it again, but Colin LOVES it.  This trip is all about him and letting him have fun.  He enjoys ski school and knows that this is probably the only way he will get to ski.  I do think he would enjoy just skiing with someone versus lessons so if anyone out there has a lift pass and wants to earn some money in the future, let me know!  It has been two years since he has skied so I am curious how today will go for him.  All three kids are in the same class which is hit or miss as in the past they have tended to bicker and fight with each other . . . we are hopeful they have grown up enough to be kind to each other!  Ready for day 1 . . .
Meanwhile while the kids were at ski school, the adults headed out for an adventure too!  A couple miles out of town is the Keystone Nordic Center so we decided to put our snow shoes to work.  I brought those things all this way; so I was going to use them . . . so off to the trail we went . . .
It was so nice out with a light snow falling and no one around . . .
The trail is actually on a golf course and the hole makers are these huge metal moose . . . I was all alone so had a little fun . . .
. . . thankfully the trails were well marked with yellow tape so I did not get lost!  It was so nice and peaceful and just nice to think about nothing!  I will admit I was huffing and puffing because I had not adjusted to the altitude but managed to have fun.  I was so glad to be done as the last 100 meters one of my snow shoes would not stay hooked.  We enjoyed the soup buffet too . . .
Tuscan White Bean (top), Wild Game Chili (bottom left), Cream of Cauliflower (bottom right) with fresh bread.  We headed back to River Run Village to pick up the students.  We hung out at the bottom of the run for about 40 minutes trying to see if we could see them ski down but no luck since they took the gondola back to the ski school yard.  All were happy but apparently skiing is hard work . . .
Colin with his ski instructor, Jim . . .
We headed back to the condo where we had an Easter Egg hunt . . .
. . . never too old and they all had fun!  Of course there was more swimming and hot tubbing by all and I even gave the steam room a try . . . man it was hot but nice too.
