Meanwhile while the kids were at ski school, the adults headed out for an adventure too! A couple miles out of town is the Keystone Nordic Center so we decided to put our snow shoes to work. I brought those things all this way; so I was going to use them . . . so off to the trail we went . . .
It was so nice out with a light snow falling and no one around . . .
The trail is actually on a golf course and the hole makers are these huge metal moose . . . I was all alone so had a little fun . . .
. . . thankfully the trails were well marked with yellow tape so I did not get lost! It was so nice and peaceful and just nice to think about nothing! I will admit I was huffing and puffing because I had not adjusted to the altitude but managed to have fun. I was so glad to be done as the last 100 meters one of my snow shoes would not stay hooked. We enjoyed the soup buffet too . . .
Tuscan White Bean (top), Wild Game Chili (bottom left), Cream of Cauliflower (bottom right) with fresh bread. We headed back to River Run Village to pick up the students. We hung out at the bottom of the run for about 40 minutes trying to see if we could see them ski down but no luck since they took the gondola back to the ski school yard. All were happy but apparently skiing is hard work . . .
Colin with his ski instructor, Jim . . .
We headed back to the condo where we had an Easter Egg hunt . . .
