Day 7: Michigan Road Trip

Tonight we leave Michigan but before we leave Detroit we decide to spend the day at The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village.
Colin said the only good thing is knowing we can't spend all day since we have a flight to catch.
teenager + museum = no fun
The three adults carry on while the teenager does too.  There are a ton of school buses so we know that it is going to be crowded and on top of that they are having a graduation ceremony there too.  We all head outdoors to explore the Greenfield Village.  We take the train around the entire village and then what I was most looking forward to a ride in a vintage Model T.
We popped into a few of the houses and talked to some of the animals.
We also found it amusing to watch the city kids interact with the sheep.  You could tell it was probably the first time they have been around livestock.  Thankfully they were being kind to the animals.  In order to make it more enjoyable we split up so my parents can enjoy the entire museum while me and the boy explore on our own.  My favorite exhibit was of a decomposed Model T . . .
. . . and one to just sit in too.
I guess today I just loved all things Model T!  When we linked back up my parents, my dad had a story he overheard two of the school boys talking about.  They were in the Presidential Cars exhibit and were looking at a car . . .
. . . one of the boys turned to the other and asked which President he thought drove this car because it was so fancy . . . my dad said without hesitation the boy insisted it had to be Abe Lincoln.  We all laughed.  It was time to head to the airport so off we went.  Our first summer adventure was a good one!
