Day 6: Michigan Road Trip

Of course the weather is less than desirable but hopefully it moves out by the time we reach our first destination, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore.  You know how much I love the National Park System.  The weather was starting to clear so we drove to Sleeping Bear Bay . . .
There happened to be several school groups so some of the buildings were open which allowed us to pop in and look too.  It was a bit wet outside but we stopped at the Dune Climb . . .
Colin wasn't interested and if the sand wasn't so wet it would have been super fun.  The rain stopped so we set out on our intended plan which was to drive the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive.
It was a really great 7.4 mile drive.  It was a one way road so made it easy to drive slow and stop.  We were able to get out of the car and enjoy the views too.
We headed back to the Visitor's Center to watch the movie about the park since all the school groups had left which was nice because it was so loud earlier!  Oh and I did this . . .
I can not help myself!  Colin thinks he is too old and well I love doing them.  I actually usually learn something too.  It was back in the car for the long drive back to Detroit!
