Day 6: Rhodes, Greece

I grabbed a quick breakfast at Surfside Grill  . . . it is a “secret” serving line behind Surfside Café and sometimes opens earlier.  I was the only one there at 5:58am so first one to eat! I ate in peace and when people wandered in it was like they had found a pot of gold that food was available since all lines were blocked off at Surfside Café until 6:30am.  I tell you people watching on a cruise is the best!  One thing I like to do each morning is sneak out on deck 4 for a view of arrival into each port city.
Shore Excursion: Highlights of Rhodes
Which means me and 60 of my “friends” are herded on a bus to a few of the sites around Rhodes.  Our first stop was Filerimos Hill.
There were peacocks everywhere . . . just strutting right into my photo, and I didn't mind at all.
Then back to the city center for a walking tour of the medieval walled city of Rhodes.

Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes . . .
Of course I loved the mosaics.  I can’t believe they look so good to have been walked on for so many years!

The cobblestone streets were difficult to walk on with all the uneven tiny stones.
Our tour was over so a quick walk back to the ship.  I wandered around the port area a bit before getting back on the ship.

All meals were eaten at Surfside Grill or Surfside Cafe . . . nothing super special but food was fresh and good.  I will say the layout of the buffet is not great, and it is constantly crowded.  It was always crowded and difficult to find a table.  It was not designed to handle the number of people that are trying to eat!  I did like the two bite desserts and iced tea.
It was an early departure . . . good bye Rhodes!
I hung out in my room for a bit and watched the movie, Cars.  I haven’t seen it in years and still a great movie!  I ventured out for the live show of Beetlejuice.  No photos allowed during the show but it was a fabulous production!  The spelling did sort of bother me.
