Here we go AGAIN!

So the blog has become private . . . only until we get back home but was sort of freaked out that the world would know we would not be around.

Well, we are on the go again . . . the longest yet but last summer when our five weeks came to an end I was really wishing for just one more week so here we are on a six week adventure. Oh boy oh boy how fun . . . lots in store and many places that I never made it to when I lived here so we will definitely be on the go . . . and I can't wait! No time to waste or sleep . . . well, okay I must have sleep.

I tell you I have flown three different airlines the last six months across the big pond . . . each offering good and not so good things. Let me just say how mad I was at KLM the last week . . . we had prebooked seats of window and aisle and somehow I got unassigned but Colin was still in his window seat . . . I reassigned myself a few rows up. Two days later got my original seat back to only check in yesterday and find us both unassigned . . . seriously? Why let you pick if you are going to do the old switch-a-roo . . . oh and I called and asked to be moved back next to my six year old to be told only when we arrive and that passenger wants to switch . . . hmmmmm, give him 30 minutes and he will be begging me to switch, LOL.

My favorite airline to fly from DFW to Germany is Lufthansa . . . just love them! It was the plan but tickets were $600 more per person so no can do! I think they are just a great airline but price always seems high! American makes you pay for every little thing but they have the biggest overhead bins . . . I swear I could crawl up in there and take a nap but would probably weigh to much and come crashing down but the two times Iflew with them they were delayed both times (1 hour and 2 hours). KLM has the BEST in flight entertainment . . . I mean super amazing list of movies and shows. I was loving that! While they did annoy me this year and last year with the whole seat mess, in the end it all worked out. Oh and KLM started boarding late and left one minute early and it was booked full.

We did not get as much sleep as I had hoped for, but Colin managed to sleep about 3 hours which was much better than the 15 minutes last time . . . did I mention awesome movies on personal TV screens? I think that will be great for the 10 hour flight home where we need to stay awake.

I was very amused on the flight yesterday/today . . . it was a fully booked flight and always a few passengers that are just hilarious to me and don't even know it! So here are my highlights for the first day . . .

1. I watched the movie Dear John . . . not the best movie to watch knowing how Sean died . . . it was okay and took up two hours of flight time. Oh and I so want a beach house now too, LOL.

2. The couple across the aisle from me wanted to get their money's worth in booze: 6 (maybe 8) bottles of red wine (they were small maybe 2 glasses each bottle) and six after dinner drinks. WOW!!! After the last drink the flight attendant bent down and told them the airline had a passenger drink rule and these would be the last drinks she was allowed to serve them. WOW, I mean that is a lot of drinks in a 2 hour window. During his pouring of bottles 3 and 4 it went all over his nice white linen shirt . . . no problem the girlfriend/wife took it to the restroom and washed it and then hung it over the seat in front to dry. Of course when they fell asleep or shall I saw passed out the guy was talking in his sleep. They were just hilarious . . . he seemed American and she was Ukrainian . . . I tell you how I know in a minute.

3. During the dinner meal service the row across from me was having language barriers . . . remember the drunks above? The lady from Ukraine told the server the lady next to her only spoke Polish and nothing else . . . she told the server loudly she was from the Ukraine and was trying to help translate but Polish and Ukrainian were really nothing alike . . . go figure . . . so how was she helping? This is hilarious . . . well only maybe if you are tired and stuck on a 9 hour flight. So they were trying to get the Polish lady to decide if she wanted beef or chicken but no luck so the Ukrainian girl started mooing like a cow and clucking like a chicken . . . pure funny! She still did not get it so the meal server lady got in on the action too. The Polish lady figured out she wanted chicken but guess what? They were out of chicken! They continued to figure out how to translate that one with no success so just gave her beef. She told them no and every flight attendant that walked by got stopped. They would just so no chicken and move along. It was funny seeing adults make animal sounds. I wish I knew what the Polish lady was thinking?

We have a few days to rest before we get down to business . . . We are both so tired and exhausted!
