London, day 1

We arrived in London late afternoon from Germany. It was a quick flight of less than 90 minutes! Of course it took a bit to go through customs and passport control while at Heathrow Airport but we were quickly on the express train to the center of town at Paddington Station. After a few blocks walk, we were at our hotel for the next few days. I had a list of must do things so we got right to work. It was the plan to go check out the line at the London Eye . . . it was surprisingly short so in line we went . . . less than 30 minutes we were in a pod and seeing a bird's eye view of some of London's best places.

When our London Eye 'flight' was over we did a walk to the area to see Big Ben . . .

. . . Westminster Abbey . . .

. . . and as we left we saw this . . .
. . . of course there was a camp of war protesters who were camping out in a tent city which looked like total crap right in the middle of all these beautiful buildings. We decided to end the night early so we could get a quick swim. We only had 15 minutes before the pool closed so we were hungry and ordered Fish and Chips . . . Colin and I ordered the large portion and were suppose to share but someone ate it all and left me with only 5 bites! Oh well, it wasn't like I really needed it anyway, LOL.

Colin's Photo of the Day
As we were eating dinner Colin was snapping photos of just about anything he could see. When I looked at his photos that night I noticed this one and thought it was pretty funny . . . we ate fish and chips right across the street.
