Nurnberg

We have spent the last couple of days playing catch up . . . sleep and laundry mostly but also giving Colin some time to rest before the first long leg of the trip. Today I was getting bored so decided to hop the train to my favorite German city . . . Nurnberg of course. I called the taxi since it is a long walk to the train station but was told they were not working. I was determined so we walked . . . it wasn't too bad but knowing we were going to be doing a lot of walking once we arrived to Nurnberg worried me but Colin managed to do it. Of course he was thirsty and I had not packed a drink . . . as soon as we got to the train station a Sprite managed to make him happy and he forgot all about the long trek.

I really did not have any plans but to just sort of hang out. I did want to visit at least one museum so decided on the Deutsche Bahn (DB) Museum. I mean what boy doesn't like trains?

This is my favorite time of year in Germany . . . window boxes of course make me smile!

A few photos from walking around the city . . .

After lunch, eis, and finding Colin a new Euro swimsuit off we went to the DB Museum . . .
This is the train car of King Ludwig . . .
Two of the 'model' trains that you could look at inside and walk around . . . Colin could not get over how big they were!
Don't be alarmed these are non operable tracks that were outside the museum . . . he enjoyed walking on them . . .

Colin's Photo of the DaySee I told you we also get a lot of 'those' type of photos!

  1. Yeah, you brought tears to my eyes. I am SO homesick still! I realize that when I buy my lottery ticket every week I'm hoping to win so that I can buy a house in Berchtesgaden as my summer home. How sad is that. (But how great is that if I win! Heh.)
