to Krakow, day 1

It was suppose to be a quick flight from Munich to Krakow, Poland BUT we hit a stau (traffic jam) and the flight was delayed an hour. Thankfully it was just one flight and no connections. We also did not check any bags so were able to zip right along to the waiting taxi! We get moving and then get stuck in another stau on the way to the hotel . . . there was a bad accident involving a car and motorcycle and I am thinking someone probably died . . . it looked terrible. We finally arrived two hours after our originally planned arrival but safe so that is what really mattered. We dropped out bags and set out to explore the main square . . . for dinner because I was hungry. It was a quick walk and tons of those touristy type restaurants. We found one and ate! I did not take many photos but did find this door very interesting . . .

We stayed out past dark which was nice since we hardly ever do . . . never felt any danger or uncomfortable at all!

Oh and thought I would throw this out since some who read this have been to Poland. I have been to Boleslawiec three or four times to buy Polish Pottery (blue and white dishes) and the last time I went the exchange rate was $1=7 Polish zloty . . . today, it is $1=3 Polish zloty . . . so some of us have a gold mine in Polish Pottery in our cabinets! I have seen a few pieces at the markets but not near the amount in the town that makes and sells it.
