Day 3: Animal Kingdom

Last time (1993) I was at Disney World, Animal Kingdom did not exist so I was excited to check it out. First stop was a roller coaster, Expedition Everest, that I did not ride but was Colin's favorite for the day. We then headed to the Kilimanjaro Safari for what I was thinking was going to be wonderful . . . not so much. We did see animals . . .

. . . but I was not impressed with the animal's living environment and think some zoos look more natural. I left with the impression that the animals were put in cages each night but maybe I did not understand the guide correctly. I don't know maybe I just had it over hyped in my mind . . . like it was going to be a 'real' African safari? It was okay but needless to say I was disappointed! We stopped to meet a couple more characters . . .

I was impressed with the center of the park . . . The Tree of Life . . .
. . . my pictures don't do it justice. I did really enjoy the Bug's Life show that was held inside too. It was cute and funny! And keeping with the bug theme . . .
I also thought the Nemo show was very good too . . . more for adults but loved the costumes and music! We left as the park closed and were to take the bus to Epcot for our dinner reservation. Apparently several hundred other people had the same idea. We ended up getting a cab so we did not miss our dinner at Teppan Edo (Japan) . . . yummy!
. . . some one ate as much food as the adults! It was yummy.
