After a day of just relaxing, it was time to hit the road. I can not believe how beautiful central California really is . . . so green, so sunny, so hilly, so much more than I imagined it would be! Our first stop was for some hot chocolate and then head to Old Port Beach . . . hey it was cool outside and the water was SO cold but try telling that is a boy!
. . . as you can tell the hot chocolate sort of ended up down the front of that nice blue shirt but I sort of forgot about that when this is what you see . . .
So beautiful isn't it? After a quick change of clothes, we drove by Morro Rock . . .
. . . on our way to do a little kayaking around Morro Bay . . .
. . . too bad he couldn't really help paddling but don't tell him that. We did a little hiking around the sand dunes . . .
. . . until we reached the ocean . . .
. . . what a workout but so much fun too! We got very close to these guys on the way back to the dock . . . What a life! After we finished with the water and dunes we had some much needed lunch. I went for the fish tacos which were SO yummy! The thought of those two together just never sounded very good but trust me they were very good! We saw they had an aquarium in the town so decided to walk in and check it out . . . it wasn't that bad but they did have these rescued seals/sea lions (because I forget which they were) that were being rehabilitated . . . it was sad that they were contained in such a small area but they were well fed by the tourists and looked healthy . . . We headed back to our home base but took a quick tour of Cal Poly's campus. Talk about feeling old when you see all these young college kids! Colin was itching to hit the beach again so we stopped at Pismo Beach . . .
. . . for a little fun in the sand . . . he sure loves playing and building.
