Day 6: Moab, Utah

Last summer we went rafting in New Mexico and had a blast soI knew we had to go in Moab!  I booked weeks before we left with Moab Adventure Center . . . they were some of the nicest people ever!  The price was a lot cheaper than New Mexico too.  Unfortunetely, we did not have our own raft BUT the view was beyond beautiful and the family from Pennsylvania we shared the raft trip was very nice.  We did the half day PM trip which included a break with a lunch at Red Cliff Lodge (which was an awesome looking place to stay).  Our guide, Libby, was the sweetest 20 year old I have ever met . . . she is a student at BYU studying to be a nurse and she never stopped smiling and talking to us.  She really made the trip enjoyable . . . not to mention how strong she was to row our raft too . . . we helped but I think she did much more work than the 9 of us in the raft!  Here are a few photos from all the fun . . .

It was another HOT day so when we got to calm waters we were allowed to get in the water to cool off!  We both spent time floating around enjoying the views and being silly!  Now getting back into the raft was somewhat of a challenge.
Trying to take a photo in the middle of the river is a little difficult especially when you have a kid hanging on you!

Libby took time to show each kid how to row the raft and gave them a chance to do her job . . .
. . . needless to say all four of the kids (8, 9, 14, and 17) could not beleive how hard it really was and did not lats very long!  And of course all good things must come to an end.  We had a blast and can't wait to go rafting again . . . next time I am thinking an overnight trip with camping; doesn't that sound like SO much fun?
We headed back into town to get cleaned up, wash clothes, and swim!  We headed to dinner at Moab Brewery and was not impressed . . . I told you Pasta Jay's was hard to beat!
