Day 5: Costa Maya, Mexico

Today we stop in Costa Maya, Mexico.  I have been here before and wasn't impressed.  In fact it was a stop built just for cruise ships so not so much to do.  I booked us a day at The Maya Chan Beach.  It would be a day to hang out, eat, drink and nothing but beach and relaxation . . . the sign says so it must be true!

They limit the number of people so it never felt crowded.  The beach was okay . . . unfortunately the seaweed was rolling in but the workers were out there the entire time raking and hauling off.  It didn't spoil our day one bit.  You have your own reserved area with chairs and cabana.  We quickly were brought a drink and snack . . . why yes I do . . .

. . . the guacamole was  so good I think I ate two bowls by myself.  Colin found the hammock to help with his stressful life . . .

There was a place to get massages and he begged to help get rid of some stress . . . I let him since it was inexpensive . . .

. . . and then he found a friend

Of course he was first in line when lunch was served.  His new friend showed up and watched him eat.  We headed to eat lunch and when we returned he told his friend just licked my plate . . . right kiddo!  Lunch, why yes I do . . .

The food was amazing!  Super yummy and the staff was beyond words amazing too!  They were always asking if you needed anything and just so friendly.  If you did need something all you had to do was ask, and they made it happen.  I probably could have sat in a chair the entire time and not moved!  It was time to head back to the boat.

Apparently, it rained a lot while we were away . . . we could see the boat from where we were and at times the rain was so heavy you could barely see the boat.  The power was out at the port so back we went to relax before dinner.  About dinner . . . one of our favorite things about cruise ships in getting to know our servers during the week.  After about a day or two, they usually peg Colin and he never has to order his meal.  Of course that happens when you don't eat a variety of food!  We ordered our appetizer and his dinner was served without even ordering . . . can you say spoiled?

Yes, there are 3 steaks on that plate.  We had a new friends when returned to our cabin . . .
