This is so sad! We did go to the Oregon coast for a couple days this week (I was on vacation from work - original plan was visiting family in Maine). Everything in the county we live in is still closed. At the coast we were able to rent a condo and eat in restaurants (with social distancing and all that but still . . . a restaurant!). And I got to see the ocean for three days! I wonder what travel will look like later this year, next year, in the future.
And this is still sad. Have you been able to do any trips this summer? We will go to the Oregon coast again in a couple weeks - it is easy to socially-distance on a miles-long beach, we can drive there, and we stay in a condo so little interaction with other people. We have cancelled so many trips - I'm sure you have, too. Maybe next summer we can make up for the lack of travel this summer! ~Sue Kirlin
Well it is still sad for me too. We were able to make a quick trip to Florida for a family wedding in early July and I made sure we spent one night at the beach. I need to write about it. Let me tell you those 20 hours of sand and sea breezes were exactly what I needed! I go back to school/work on August 11 so summer is just about over for me. Looking forward to 2021 . . . let's hope it is better! It has to be right? Can it be worse?
