We ventured to campus super early, because I wanted to check out the newly renovated and reopened MSC (Memorial Student Center). It was different; some parts I liked and well some not so much. It sure wasn't the MSC I remembered from my days, but it was a nice update. I really thought the display of the Aggie Medal of Honor recipients was a very nicely done. I forgot to snap a photo but very nice display for these 7 Aggies. We rounded the corner of the Hall of Honor and found the new display that list the names of all Aggies killed while serving our country. Of course I got teary eyed when I saw the current list, and Colin soon figured it out when he said, "Daddy's name is sixth up there."
It isn't a very good photo since I used my phone but will be sure to take my camera next time. The MSC is a special place . . . we don't walk or sit on the grass around the building . . . we uncover (remove hats) when we enter the building because it is a building dedicated to fallen Aggies. We expect all Aggies and visitors to do the same. Now it has Sean's name etched on the wall reminding all who enter of the sacrifice so many Aggies have made. I took Colin aside and told him what the MSC was all about and why Sean's name was on that glass wall. Enough heavy stuff so we headed outside to enjoy all that game day now has to offer. It was exciting since Aggieland is now SEC country . . .
and well the second half we will not discuss . . . we still love our Aggies and will be back for more!
The boys were very excited when the game was over so they could go play on Kyle Field . . .
During my days at Texas A&M you did not even think about stepping foot on Kyle Field after the game or you would be tackled by a Corps of Cadet fish . . . you just didn't do that but now anything goes. Colin really loved watching the Aggie Band at half time and the pregame fly over of A-10s. In his words both were AWESOME!
