Day 2: Wyoming

We were up early and ready to check out of the hotel and head to the Wyoming Frontier Prison Museum. We were the only people on the tour so that was nice . . . the bad was it was our tour guides first day too. He did just fine and really improved as the tour went along! The prison was very interesting and had only closed down in the 1980s.  We managed to leave with our little 'jail bird' . . .
We got back on the road to head to our destination for the night: Jackson, Wyoming. We quickly checked in and made a reservation for dinner at Gun Barrel. I don't complain about food but this was the worst steak I had ever tasted. It had a taste of burned char-grilled . . . I thought it was just mine but Colin's and my mom's tasted the same. I did not complain as I didn't want them to think I wanted my meal for free. I did cut off the outside and it tasted much better but should not have to do that . . . I walked out with a bad taste in my mouth and a lighter wallet too. Disappointed to say the least! We weren't ready to head to the hotel for the night so drove through the National Elk Refuge. While we did not see any elk due to it being the wrong time of year, we did see several antelope, two coyote, and a ton of prairie dogs.
Colin got to see the food chain in action . . . the coyotes were stalking the prairie dogs for dinner and we had a front row seat. They were so cute . . .
It was back to the hotel to relax in the whirlpool, no pool but a very awesome hot pool.
