Another beautiful wake up this morning. Today is the educational day of the trip! We had prearranged a tour and dissection at the University of Texas Pan Am Coastal Studies Laboratory. I don't remember where we heard about this place but it was worth the visit. Even if you don't do one of the tours it is worth stopping by one afternoon to check it out. The kids were excited . . .
Well except that the smell was strong as they have never been around formaldehyde. They learned about the parts of the shark and loved cutting open the stomach to see what the shark's last meal was before caught . . . I will spare you the excitement. They then had time for a short scavenger hunt around the building and to touch some of the sea creatures from the area. I even got in on the fun and held a sea urchin . . .
We then head back to the condo for lunch and more beach time. I loved this photo . . .
Since I got a sunburned I had to cover up . . .
I swear I put on sunscreen but the sun was just too much for me yesterday. I went on strike from cooking duties and insisted we order pizza . . . D'pizza Joint for dinner. The kids devoured the pizza in no time flat. It was a great last day at the beach!
