We had a last minute offer of tickets to watch the Aggies play Vanderbilt this weekend. It was a tough decision for Colin . . . last soccer game or Aggie Football game . . . it was a no brainer for me! So where did we end up? You guessed it in College Station of course. It was an early starting game (11:20am) so we arrived on campus way before the crowds which was nice as we enjoyed seeing things without thousands of other fans . . . we stopped by the original 12th man statue of E. King Gill . . .
. . . then over to the Quad to check out the cannon . . .
. . . then to the Sanders Corps of Cadet Center to look around and find Sean's brick . . .
. . . and waited for the Corps (or student soldiers as Colin calls them) to march-in . . .
After the last cadet passed we met up with our dear friends . . . Kathy (one of my roommates; the longest I might add) and family and her parents in the MSC. It is a long tradition we have before game days. I was reminded that it was 20 years ago we met as young students . . . I think I was reminded about a dozen times throughout the day; yes, we are getting old! We were thrilled to have the two tickets so we could hang out and visit too. We headed over to Kyle Field and waited for the players to enter the stadium . . .
. . . the players at the end were so nice to high five the kids! The weather at the game was awesome! It was nice to go to a game and not sweat buckets! The 1st quarter was exciting (check out the score at the beginning of the 2nd quarter),
the 2nd not so much, 3rd back in the game, and 4th quarter was a great hang out moment! We love our fun visits to Aggieland to see our Aggies play but especially to reconnect with friends who are more like family.
