For the first time ever school was closed the entire week of Thanksgiving . . . I was thrilled but knew we would not be going on a long trip but somewhere close and drivable. I decided to head north to Oklahoma City. Our first night was going to be in Fort Worth to see a musical. Of course as the day drew near a winter weather storm decided to show up which put our plans in jeopardy. Due to forecasted snow and ice, I decided to cancel the trip north and return home after the musical. Total bummer but hopefully will get lots and lots of chores done around the house.
As soon as school dismissed we headed north on I-35 . . . on a Friday afternoon at 3:30pm . . . probably not the best time but we arrived in Fort Worth only to encounter traffic at our exit. It was not too bad. We checked into the hotel and immediately headed to the pool to unwind and relax. Our hotel was right in the middle of town and only a block from our event tomorrow morning so that was nice. However, I hardly slept a wink because for some odd reason we were in a room above a busy street on the second floor; it was awful! Oh well at least the heater worked since it was in the low 30s and the hotel room was really nice too.
We woke the next morning, laid around the room being lazy, went to breakfast, and finally checked out at noon. We wandered across the street to Bass Performance Hall where we would see How the Grinch Stole Christmas Musical.
We arrived early and did a walk through the venue. It was beautiful . . . loved these angels.
We could not go to our seats just yet so Colin decided he needed a snack . . .
. . . a preshow drink, Cindy Lou Lemonade, and goldfish crackers. It was show time . . .
. . . we both enjoyed the show. We had a post show snack across the street at The Original Cupcakery . . .
. . . and headed back home to beat the winter storm that was to arrive tomorrow.

Love those angels too! And I see Colin has one of his favorite snacks (cupcakes) close at hand ;)
