Florida day 3

It was an early wake up for some reason . . . so off to the beach for fun in the sun and walks collecting more shells.  Colin made more forts but with the high tide they were quickly washed away!  I swear he would stay out on the beach all day long . . .
After a few hours, the kids wanted to head to the big pool so off we went.  Before we went to the pool we made a couple of detours with the golf cart.  It is so much fun having the golf cart!  This resort is huge!
Our first stop was to Walker's Landing . . . the high tide was in but the marshy areas were so calm.
The moss hanging from the trees is amazing . . .

Next stop was to Drummond Park.  The kids were happy playing on the awesome playground while we couldn't wait to show them these guys . . .
. . . they were not impressed.  There were thousands of them running wild.  It was so fun to sit and watch them.  But time was ticking so off to the pool!  The weather was just crappy today . . . cloudy, drizzling rain, super humid.
. . . you know typical August weather in Florida.  So what makes yucky weather bearable?
. . . an overpriced $6 snow cone does!  The pool became boring so back to the beach for a bit until a storm blew through.  We cooked dinner and loaded up the car to head to Fernandina Beach which happens to be the only incorporated town on Amelia Island.  We drove around looking at houses and the beach and then headed to the downtown area.  What a delightful town!  We had fun walking up and down the main street and even stopped for a yummy sweet treat . . .
I really enjoyed a slice of the homemade chocolate walnut fudge!  And just like that it was back to the condo where all good things must end.  We dropped the golf cart back off and time to pack our bags before our flight home tomorrow morning.  We are sure going to miss this resort!
