AZ Road Trip Day 4: Wild Winding Roads

The drive on 89A from Prescott to Sedona is considered one of the most scenic drives. It is also very curvy and slow going which is good because it makes you really enjoy the scenery. It was winding but beautiful. We made a stop in Jerome, Arizona for lunch.  There was not a lot to see or do so we just walked around and looked at the artsy shops. It was good to get out of the car to enjoy the nice weather and stretch our legs. Apparently, the biggest highlight in Jerome is the Sliding Jail. The jail, built in 1905, began sliding in 1938 when the shape of the mountain changed after it was blasted with dynamite. It slid about 225 feet, tearing away from its original building. We walked around to where the map said it was but could not figure out where it was located; thanks for nothing internet maps. I am certain we walked by it a dozen times without realizing it. Oh well, lunch was calling ad we decided to give The Clinkscales a try.  It was so good! I had a fancy grilled cheese sandwich and tomato poblano soup . . . both were amazing!
You know what was the best? The iced tea . . . I can not even remember how many glasses I drank but it was a lot! Back on the road for more scenic driving! We ended our drive in Sedona, Arizona.
