We are back in Texas! It was probably the worst flight experience all around. We arrived at the airport to be told our seats were no longer and we were on a wait list for our long flight from Amsterdam to DFW but the short flight was fine . . . nice! There is nothing like showing up and not knowing if you are going to get on board, rerouted to who knows where, or forced to spend another night. We waited for two hours while the entire flight was loaded . . . ten minutes before departure we were one of the lucky ones who got on board . . . apparently a lot of people had their seats yanked away . . . something tells me a higher priced ticket got the seats . . . I'm just saying money talks! We get settled and there were a lot of little, cranky, yelling, kicking kids on the flight . . . one right behind me! I won't complain too much because I have been there but I always make sure Colin doesn't have his feet on the seat in front of him . . . always! Let's just say I had the worst headache for most of the flight . . . all 10 hours and then at least 4 more at home! Then, the preordered kid's meal was not there either . . . probably something to do with being moved, bumped, and reassigned. I tell you KLM sure hasn't earned any fans. Our luggage did make it which totally shocked me! Of course we get home and I start unpacking and the insides were completely soaking wet . . . apparently they all sat outside in the rain for an extended time . . . glad some things I bought are water stained. The biggest moment of the day was at the DFW airport . . . absolutely NO line at Passport Control or Customs . . . in fact we had a little 5 minute chat with the agent in customs . . . I was SO ready to see my Papa and so was Colin! I will admit that when I walked outside, I gasped for air . . . now it is really hot! A trip review will be coming in the next few days . . .
