Bahamas day 3

The morning started with sadness.  I received an email from a local tour company informing us they were cancelling our tour tomorrow morning.  The was the only reason I wanted to come here . . . I had been looking forward to this forever!  So due to predicted high winds tomorrow the boat would not be able to safely take us to see the swimming pigs in Exuma.  I was bummed but there are bigger issues in life to get upset over.  Seriously I was so excited about this!  We changed hotels . . . we went from an amazing view to an equally great view at the British Colonial Hilton Nassau!
Our room was ready so I was happy to drop our bags.  Now this room had an amazing view but it was so narrow.  The bathroom was as big as the room.  It was perfectly fine but so narrow.
We were hungry so walked to an area called Fish Fry for lunch.  Twin Brothers was one of the first places we saw (and had been recommended by 3 locals) so inside we went to enjoy the cool air conditioning.  The food was really good.  Colin had lobster with rice and macaroni . . .
. . . and I had shrimp with cole slaw and plantains . . .
It was really good and so much cheaper than Atlantis!  Our bill was less than $40 with drinks.  We grabbed an extra bottle of water for the walk back to the hotel since it was so hot.  After we arrived we quickly changed and headed for the beach . . .
The cruise ships left port and all was quiet again!  This hotel also allows cruise ship passengers to buy day passes but they were loud and obnoxious so was glad when they left.  We ended the night in the executive lounge before calling it a night.

  1. Dan and I stayed at the British Colonial Hilton Nassau for our honeymoon 30 years ago! We talk about going back -- maybe you will inspire us!
